Wereldhave Belgium is a real-estate investment trust that specializes in retail properties, primarily shopping centers and retail parks across Belgium. Founded in 1999, Wereldhave Belgium’s core operating activities are centered on the management, leasing and development of their properties. Wereldhave Belgium is a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Wereldhave NV, a company founded in 1948.

Wereldhave Belgium is one of the market leaders in the Belgian real estate industry. Its portfolio consists of ten retail parks and nine shopping centres spread throughout the country, making Wereldhave one of the most geographically diversified REITs in Belgium. As of March 31st, 2020, the company had a total of 774 leaseable units in their portfolio.

Wereldhave Belgium has become increasingly active in the development and renovation of their properties, as well as the acquisition of new properties. The company focuses on creating attractive locations, mainly by strengthening the tenant mix and regularly refreshing their portfolios. In addition, Wereldhave Belgium has also undertaken initiatives to ensure the sustainability of their properties, such as reducing energy consumption and waste.

Wereldhave Belgium is a public company that has been listed on the Euronext Brussels stock exchange since 1999. As of 31 March 2020, the company has a market capitalization of € 403 million. The company is managed by an Executive Board comprised of five members, with Jaap Gillis acting as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since May 2019.
