United Airlines Holdings, Inc., previously known as United Continental Holdings, Inc., is a major American airline, providing air transportation services in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, the Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America. The company’s main subsidiaries are United Air Lines, Inc. and United Express.

The company is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and was founded in 1968, after the merger of Capital Airlines and United Airlines. The former United Airlines, founded in 1926 and United’s chief predecessor, is the oldest airline operating in the United States and one of the most prominent legacy carriers in the world.
