Sony Group Corporation is a global leader in technology, entertainment and services. Sony Group Corporation has a long and distinguished history, having been founded in 1946 as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo K.K. Before its eventual incorporation into Sony Group Corporation in 2021, the company changed its name several times, including in 1958 to Sony Corporation. It has since grown into a multinational conglomerate with operations in over 40 countries and almost 100,000 employees worldwide. Sony also has a large presence in the entertainment industry, with operations in production, distribution, and exhibition of motion pictures, television programming, home entertainment and digital content. It also owns a number of record labels and has an impressive list of awards and accolades to its name, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Emmy Awards.
