The company has four main segments: Commercial, Institutional, Retail, and Global Payments.

The Commercial segment provides foreign exchange and treasury services to corporations, institutional clients, and non-governmental and government organizations, as well as risk management and hedging services. StoneX Group Inc.’s Institutional segment provides equity trading services to institutional clients as well as origination, structuring and placement of debt instruments in capital markets worldwide. StoneX Group Inc.’s Retail segment provides trading services and solutions in the global financial markets, including spot foreign exchange, precious metals trading, and contracts for differences. The Global Payments segment provides payments services to banks and commercial business, charities, and non-governmental and government organizations.

StoneX Group Inc. was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in New York, New York. The company has approximately 4,400 employees from its global offices located in the U.S., the U.K., Asia, Australia, and Europe. StoneX Group Inc. has over 1000 institutional clients and its global clearing volumes exceed $7 trillion in annual notional value. In July 2020, the company changed its name from INTL FCStone Inc. to StoneX Group Inc. to better represent the scope of its global financial services network.

The company has been constantly expanding its reach and offerings through strategic acquisitions. In 2019, the company acquired three businesses, Global Forex and Commodities Business, First Abu Dhabi Bank-MEA’s Global Markets Solutions, and Voice Brokerage Business from NYSE Focused Equity Partner. In 2020, it acquired Global Prime, a leading brokerage in Australia, providing access to the largest and most liquid equity and derivatives markets in the Asia Pacific region.
