Prysmian S.p.A. works in partnership with subsidiaries to create, sell, and distribute cables and systems, and related parts for energy and telecommunications markets around the world. The operations are divided into three sections: Projects, Energy, and Telecom. The Projects area creates, manufactures, and constructs high and extra high voltage cables for the transmissions of electricity from generators, a power grid, and other related applications. Within power transmission and primary distribution grids, as well as in terrestrial and submarine applications, high voltage cabling systems are available. Furthermore, for power transmission and distribution, submarine cable solutions are supplied. Data transmission cables, along with umbilical cables, hoses, and electrical, optical, and signalling components designed for oil well management are also provided. Moreover, services are available for terrestrial and submarine interconnections between different countries and between offshore wind farms and the mainland, allowing the generation and distribution of electricity. The Energy segment covers a wide range of industries, such as oil and gas, downhole technology, elevators, automotive, nuclear, mining, marine, water, renewable energy, military, railway and cranes sectors, offering trade and installation services, power distribution and overhead transmission lines and different kinds of industrial and network components. Additionally, they provide asset monitoring solutions. Prysmian S.p.A., which originated in 1879 and is based in Milan, Italy, specializes in producing cable systems and connectivity items, for instance, fiber optics, optical cables, connectivity elements and add-ons, optical ground wires, and copper cables to be employed in communication networks.
