The company operates in two main segments. The Parcels, Mail in the Netherlands segment is engaged in collecting, sorting, transporting and delivering parcels and letters, as well as providing data and document management, direct marketing, and fulfillment services within the Netherlands. The PostNL Other segment is engaged in the delivery of parcels and letters in the rest of Europe and offering cross-border mail solutions.

PostNL N.V. is based in the Hague, the Netherlands and has a presence in over seventeen countries across Europe including Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. It also has a network of over 8600 delivery points across Europe. The company serves over 9000 corporate customers and has around 43,000 employees worldwide.

PostNL N.V. was previously known as TNT N.V. and changed its name in May 2011. It was originally founded in 2000 and is now a publicly listed company quoted on the Euronext Amsterdam. Over the past 20 years, the company has grown substantially, with a focus on developing innovative solutions and making strategic acquisitions. In 2019, PostNL strengthened its business by acquiring Agility Logistics’ parcel operation in the Netherlands. In 2020, the company acquired the Cross-Border eCommerce platform for Europe, called ‘Qonex’. Both acquisitions have enabled PostNL to increase the scale, scope and reach of its operations across Europe.
