Nucor Corporation is one of the largest producers of steel and steel products in the United States. Founded in 1958 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Nucor manufactures and sells a wide range of steel and steel products, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized sheet steel products, plate steel products, wide-flange beams, beam blanks, H-piling, sheet piling, bar steel products, hollow structural section steel tubing, electrical conduits, steel racking, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, insulated metal panels, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products.

Nucor also operates a Steel Mills segment, which produces and sells steel products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Nucor’s Steel Products segment offers products primarily for use in nonresidential construction applications. The company also has a Raw Materials segment that produces direct reduced iron (DRI) and brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, hot briquetted iron, and DRI, and supplies ferro-alloys. This segment also processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations.
