NextEra Energy, Inc., formerly known as FPL Group, Inc., is a leading energy company in North America, providing clean energy solutions to retail and wholesale customers. The company is headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida and has been in operation since 1925. Through its subsidiaries, NextEra Energy generates, transmits, distributes, and sells electric power to customers in North America. As of December 31, 2021, the company had approximately 28,564 megawatts of net generating capacity, 77,000 circuit miles of transmission and distribution lines, and 696 substations. The company generates electricity through a variety of sources, including wind, solar, nuclear, coal, and natural gas facilities.
