Founded in 1912, Lockheed Martin is the world’s largest defense contractor and was a major contributor to the Allied victory in World War II. The company has been a government contractor since its founding and has developed military aircraft, satellites and other technology throughout its history. In the 1970s, Lockheed Martin developed and tested the stealth technology which was used in the F-117 fighter jet as well as dozens of other projects to reduce radar visibility.
