Hexagon AB (publ) is an international technology corporation providing information technology solutions for geospatial and industrial applications worldwide. It is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and was established in 1975 under the name Eken Industri & Handel AB, before being re-named Hexagon AB in 1993. The company operates through two segment: Industrial Enterprise Solutions (IES) and Geospatial Enterprise Solutions (GIS).

The IES segment provides a range of metrology systems that include in-sensor measuring technology, as well as a range of computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing and computer-aided engineering software. Hexagon’s IES solutions are used across multiple industries, such as electronics and manufacturing, power and energy, automotive, aerospace, defense and more.

The GIS segment specializes in building 3D maps and models, which are used for various software applications focusing on fields such as surveying, construction, public safety and agriculture. This segment provides multiple solutions for data capturing, positioning, laser scanning, airborne camera, unmanned aerial vehicle, mobile mapping technology, and precise positioning. Hexagon’s GIS solutions are used in surveying, infrastructure and construction, natural resources, public safety, aerospace and defense, and more.

Hexagon AB is continuously expanding its portfolio of solutions and services, recently committing to a global expansion plan to meet the increasing demands of its customers. To this end, Hexagon has opened offices in more than 50 countries and has forged strategic partnerships with some of the world’s leading technology companies such as SAP and Oracle. The latest addition to the Hexagon family is a new corporate venture capital arm, HxGN Ventures, which will provide funding for start-ups in the fields of enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
