The company was founded in 1965 and initially operated under the name GB Emté and was a subsidiary of the Sofico-Group. It underwent a major rebranding in September 2016 and changed its name to Greenyard NV. Currently, the organization operates as a holding, owning three separate divisions. These divisions, Greenyard Fresh, Greenyard Long Fresh, and Greenyard Prepared, are dedicated to the production and supply of fruits and vegetables, freshly preserved items and ready meals.

Greenyard NV’s Fresh segment sells and delivers fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, and fresh produce. Its Long Fresh segment produces and processes harvested fruits and vegetables into frozen food products. This division also delivers freshly preserved fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, and other ambient food products as well as ready-made dishes such as soups, sauces, dips, and pasta.

Greenyard NV produces and distributes over 10,000 SKUs, covering all areas from conventional products to specialties and organic products. The Company has nine production sites spread across Europe and nine distribution centers. It is a major supplier of products and services to leading food retailers, convenience stores, restaurant operators, and food suppliers around the world.

Greenyard prides itself on its dedication to sustainability and continually works to build a sustainable future. It reduces its total emission levels by investing in renewable energy sources and by improving its energy efficiency. Greenyard also supports the circular economy and is committed to reducing the amount of food waste in the production of its products.
