Companhia Paranaense de Energia - COPEL

COPEL (Companhia Paranaense de Energia) provides energy to industrial, residential, commercial, rural, and other customers based in the State of Paraná, Brazil. The company’s main activities are centred around power generation, transformation, distribution, and trading, and also include piped natural gas distribution. These activities are divided into four separate segments: power generation and transmission, power distribution, gas, and power sale. By the end of 2021, the firm had a total of 20 hydropower, 30 wind power, and 1 thermal electricity plants, having an installed capacity of 5,957 megawatts. Furthermore, it owned and managed a total of 3,638 kilometres of transmission lines and 204,957 kilometres of distribution lines. Additionally, the company holds exclusive licenses for the distribution of electricity in 394 municipalities of Paraná and one municipality in Santa Catarina. COPEL, otherwise known as Companhia Paranaense de Energia, was established in 1954 and its main office is in Curitiba, Brazil.
