Dillard’s, Inc. is an American department store chain with retail locations in the southeastern, southwestern and midwestern United States. Founded in 1938 by William T. Dillard, the company operates over 280 stores, comprising 30 clearance centers along with an online store at dillards.com.

Dillard’s stores offer an array of merchandise including fashion apparel, accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings and other consumer goods, targeting both women and men, and children. The apparel categories encompass everything from designer and contemporary fashion to loungewear, sleepwear, and lingerie.

Dillard’s stores also offer a range of other services, including free alterations and personal shopping services. Dillard’s also offers a credit card, Dillard’s American Express Card, that can be used at both Dillards.com and any Dillard’s store.

In addition to its retail segment, Dillard’s, Inc. also engages in general contracting construction activities. The company has headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas, with regional distribution facilities in seven states and midwest distribution facilities located in Springfield, Missouri and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dillard’s, Inc. is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol DDS. The company ranks as one of the top four department store chains in the United States, alongside Macy’s, Inc., Kohl’s, and JCPenney, with total annual sales of over $7 billion as of 2020. In addition, the company has seen continuous operations and growth since 1938, when it was established by William T. Dillard, who remains today as the company’s CEO and chairman of the board.
