CEMIG, through its subsidiaries, operates in the production, transmission, delivery, and sale of electrical power in Brazil. As of December 2021, the company runs 70 hydroelectric, wind, and solar facilities with a combined capacity of 5,700 MW; 339,086 miles of distribution lines; and 4,449 miles of transmission lines. They are also involved in the purchase, transportation, and sale of energy. The transportation, distribution, and sale of gas, sub-products, and derivatives; the provision of cloud solutions, IT infrastructure, IT management, and cybersecurity services; the design, installation, and management of technology systems for public concessions; the trading of energy; the provision of telecommunications services; and the generation, storage, and management of energy efficiency, account services, and cogeneration are all activities carried out. The company came into existence in 1952 and is based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
