The business activities of Compañía de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. include exploration, harvest, processing, and trading of precious and base metals such as gold, silver, lead, zinc, and copper. They have five functioning mining locations: Tambomayo in Caylloma province, Orcopampa Unit in the province of Castilla, Uchucchacua in Oyón province, Julcani in Angaraes province, and San Gabrie in the province of General Sánchez Cerro in Moquegua region. The organization also has involvement in Colquijirca, La Zanja, Yanacocha, Cerro Verde, El Brocal, Coimolache, Yumpaq, San Gregorio mines, and Trapiche mining unit. In addition, it yields manganese sulphate monohydrate and other derivatives derived from minerals; and runs hydroelectric power plants. It was established in 1953 and its headquarters are located in Lima, Peru.
