It owns and operates a network of 4,732 miles of pipelines for transporting gas within state boundaries, together with 41,644 miles of mains and service lines for distributing the gas, 6 storage sites, 50,000 horsepower of compression equipment, and 515 miles of gathering lines. The organization also erects and preserves gas facilities for gas delivery clients; and offers domestic appliance repair services, as well as electric system construction solutions to extensive industrial customers. Furthermore, it generates electric power from wind, natural gas, and coal-fired generating plants; and coal from its coal mine near Gillette, Wyoming. The business was established in 1941 and has its main headquarters located in Rapid City, South Dakota.
