Altice USA also operates news channels under the News 12 Networks, Cheddar, and i24NEWS names, as well as provides broadband communications and video services under the Optimum and Suddenlink brands. Altice USA was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Long Island City, New York.

In 2020, Altice USA acquired Cheddar, an American pay television news network, which is available over-the-top (OTT) networks, streaming services, and cable systems. The acquisition has broadened the scope of Altice USA’s services, with Cheddar launching 70 brand-new programming, including financial news and original sports shows. Altice USA also acquired US telecommunication providers TDS Telecom and RCN Telecom Services in 2020. The companies provide broadband, video, and voice services, as well as cloud-based voice applications and managed services primarily to small and mid-sized businesses in their respective service areas. The acquisitions will strengthen Altice USA’s presence in the US telecommunications market, enabling the company to provide even more services to its customers.

Altice USA has also been investing in expanding its fiber networks and 5G infrastructure. The company has completed the buildout of its fiber network to 1 million homes and businesses and is aiming to reach an additional 2 million homes and businesses by the end of 2022. Furthermore, Altice USA plans to launch 5G services in the second half of 2021, with an initial focus on fixed 5G home internet services in select markets. In 2020, the company partnered with Nokia, Google, and other telecoms to launch the Altice Mobile virtual mobile network, which will provide users access to 5G services. Altice USA is positioning itself to be a leader in the 5G revolution and is working on providing customers with more reliable and secure network services.
