Albemarle’s Bromine segment offers bromine-based fire safety solutions and elemental bromine, alkyl and inorganic bromides, brominated powdered activated carbon, and other bromine-based products. These are used in chemical synthesis, oil and gas drilling and completion fluids, mercury control, water purification, food processing, and other applications. The segment also provides specialty chemicals such as tertiary amines for surfactants, biocides, and disinfectants and sanitizers.

Albemarle’s Catalysts segment provides hydroprocessing, isomerization and alkylation catalysts, fluidized catalytic cracking catalysts and additives, and organometallics and curatives. These products are used in a variety of refining and production processes.

Today, Albemarle Corporation has over 7,000 employees and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a network of production facilities, customer support centers, research & development, and sales offices located in more than 30 countries around the world. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and achieved $3 billion in sales in 2019, with net income of $351 million.
